Q: What kind of apartments are available at Burlingame Housing?
 
A:
Burlingame Housing has two (2) bedroom, one (1) bath apartments available on a first come, first served basis.
 
Q: What is the rental rate for apartments at Burlingame Housing?
 
A:
Rent is $1,120.00 per month from September 1, 2011 to May 31, 2012 U.S. Dollars per month for a Burlingame Apartment.

Q: What is included in the rental rate?

A: Included in the rent is electricity, water and sewer, and trash removal.

Q: How much money do I need to move in to a Burlingame Housing Apartment?

A:
Burlingame Housing requires last month's rent and a security deposit/damage deposit (totaling $2,240.00) to secure an apartment. If you send the deposit and last month's rent by mail, your first month's rent will be due upon arrival, along with any rent charges from the time your deposit was received until your arrival.

Q: What else do I need to move into Burlingame Housing?

A:
The City of Aspen requires all tenants to verify their employment in Pitkin County (Aspen and Snowmass Village area). This verification is done through the City of Aspen Housing Office (for info, please visit www.aspenhousingoffice.com.

Q: When are apartments available for renting at Burlingame Housing?

A:
Apartments are available for occupancy now and are leased out on a first come, first served basis until all apartments have been rented. Those desiring to reserve a unit any time after November 1, 2011, must wait until November 1, 2011, on a first come, first served basis.

Q: How do I reserve an apartment at Burlingame Housing?

A:
In order to secure an apartment at Burlingame Housing prospective tenants must come to the office in person or send payment for the last month's rent and security deposit ($2,240.00 U.S. Dollars) to Burlingame Housing, 050 Harmony Place, Suite #1, Aspen, Colorado 81611. The rental period will begin when this deposit is received. At that time, an apartment may be chosen from those still available. Rent would be due on the 1st of every month, thereafter. We will not hold the unit if rent is not received by the 5th of each month. Acceptable form of payments are personal checks, money orders, cashier's checks and/or traveler's checks. WE DO NOT ACCEPT TRAVELER'S CHECKS unless they are signed in the Burlingame office by the person to whom they were issued. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT TRAVELER'S CHECKS THRU THE MAIL.WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS OR BANK TRANSFERS.

Q: Are the apartments furnished or unfurnished?

A:
The apartments are partially furnished with a twin bed and desk and chair set in each bedroom and two low tables and two folding chairs in the living room.

Q: Do the apartments have a kitchen?

A:
The apartments have a kitchenette consisting of a refrigerator, a microwave oven, two range top burners, a kitchen sink and cabinet space.

Q: How big are the apartments at Burlingame Housing?

A:
The apartments are approximately 500 square feet and consist of 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchenette and a living room. Please refer to the floor plan at the bottom of this list. Please note that 2 apartments are shown in the floor plan.

Q: How many people can live in an apartment?

A:
The maximum number of tenants allowed is two (2) unrelated adults. Small families of up to four (4) related individuals (mother, father, children) are also allowed.

Q: Are pets allowed?

A:
No pets are allowed at Burlingame Housing.

Q: Are there laundry facilities at Burlingame Housing?

A:
The Commons Building has a coin operated laundry room available for tenant use. Cost and availability may change at any time.

Q: Where is Burlingame Housing located?

A:
Burlingame Housing in located two (2) miles from the center of Aspen, across Highway 82 north of Buttermilk Ski Area.

Q: Is Burlingame Housing close to public transportation?

A:
Burlingame Housing is located on the local Roaring Fork Transportation Authority bus route. The apartments are a short walk from the bus stops. For information on RFTA bus service visit www.rfta.com.

Q: Is there parking at Burlingame Housing?

A:
Yes, but parking is very limited. There are 65 parking spaces available. A parking space costs $75.00 per month. Parking spaces are rented on a first come first serve basis. No guest parking is available on site.

Q: Is there mail delivery service to Burlingame Housing?

A:
The U.S. Postal Service does not deliver to Burlingame Housing. Federal Express, UPS, and related delivery companies will deliver to Burlingame Housing. You may rent a P.O. Box at the local post office.

Q. What identification will be required for approval by the Aspen/Pitkin County Housing Office (APCHA)?
 
A valid Colorado Driver's License or ID is required; however, one of the following will also be an accepted form of a valid ID:  
          -- Certificate verifying naturalized status issued by an authorized agency of the United States bearing applicant's intact photograph impressed with the raised embossed seal of the issuing agency;
        -- Cerficiate verifying United States citizenship issued by an authorized agency of the United States bearing Applicant's intact photograph impressed with the raised embossed seal of the issuing agency.
        -- Valid Driver's License or Identification Card bearing applicant's photograph issued by one of the following:  Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming.
         -- Valid Immigration Documents demonstrating Lawful Presence and verified through SAVE.
