INFORMATION FROM CORE -- HOME ENERGY MAKEOVER CONTEST
CORE is still taking applications to participate in the Home Energey Makeover Contest. Please go onto their website at www.aspencore.org for information. The contest will pit 50 homes throughout the Valley against each other -- and against themselves -- to see who can reduce their energy the most. Participants' 2010 energy usage will be compared to their 2009 energy usage and the winner takes home $1,000 cash. Throughout the yar, CORE will provide workshops for participants to learn about the best ways to cut energy use. This will be a great way for you and your family to learn how to take control over your energy use and reduce your energy bill. CARBON MONOXIDE: The City of Aspen and Pitkin County have enacted new, more stringent regulations regarding installation and placement of carbon monoxide detectors in homes, hotels, lodges, fractional ownership properties, apartments, cabins, etc. The carbon monoxide ordinances were developed jointly by Pitkin County, the Aspen Fire Protection District and the City of Aspen.
