Over the last 30 years, approximately 2,600 employee-housing units have been developed in Pitkin County and have provided homes for many employees. The community has set goals to create more employee housing in the Aspen Area. Homes will provide a critical mass of residents needed to sustain our community. Both the Aspen/Pitkin County Housing Authority and the private sector are working on these efforts.
